O-Levels are typically taken by students aged 14 to 16 and cover a range of subjects. These exams are considered equivalent to the Matriculation in Pakistan. Dar e Arqam Schools Mukabbir Campus Gujrat is offering GCE O-level with the following combinations

Besides these, Candidates can opt more than one additional subjects according to their choice.

Difference between Matriculation and Olevel

In Pakistan, Matriculation and O-Level are two different educational systems and qualifications.

1. Matriculation:
– Matriculation, commonly referred to as “Matric,” is the local educational system in Pakistan. It typically consists of two parts: Matriculation Part-I (9th grade) and Matriculation Part-II (10th grade).
– Matriculation is administered by various education boards in different provinces of Pakistan, such as the Punjab Education Board, Sindh Education Board, etc.
– Students who complete Matriculation take exams in subjects like Urdu, English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies.
– Matriculation is a prerequisite for higher education in Pakistan and is considered the equivalent of completing high school.

2. O-Level:
– O-Level, or the General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level, is an international qualification typically offered by the British examination boards such as Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE).
– O-Level examinations are not specific to Pakistan and are recognized worldwide.
– Students who take O-Levels have a broader choice of subjects, including various sciences, humanities, and languages.
– O-Levels are often chosen by students who aim to pursue higher education abroad or want to follow an international curriculum.

The key difference is that Matriculation is a local Pakistani qualification primarily intended for students planning to continue their education within Pakistan, while O-Level is an international qualification that offers a wider range of subject options and is often chosen by students with international education aspirations.
